The curtains on the 2014 edition of Tokyo Designers Week closed on Monday: from October 25 to November 3 the event turned the Japanese capital into an international stage for any sort of design, from architecture to interior, from product to graphic and art. Hosted at the Meiji Jingu Gaien Mae, the Nipponese week attracted more than 100.000 visitors who came to Tokyo to witness the new face of modernity.

Launched in the capital in 1997 and continuously growing since, Tokyo Designers Week has been featuring a different theme for every edition. This year’s topic, Creative FeS, also involved further spheres such as music and fashion, turning the exhibition area into a multi-thematic space where visitors enjoyed architecture and design projects, as well as seminars, robots, forums, labs, and on-topic corners dedicated to specific matters such as materials, renovation and handmade.

Once again the event also focused on emerging professionals as well as young students and designers-to-be, with many happenings dedicated to the youngsters, such as the music ones. The most creative festival of Japan will return in 2015 by going abroad: its next stops will be in Europe, on the occasion of the main design weeks of the Old Continent, hosted in Milan and London, respectively during April and September.
