The curtains on the 2015 much-awaited Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, the event all about Scandinavian furniture and lighting for both public and private spaces. The world’s biggest fair of its kind went on from February 3rd to 7th at the Stockholmsmässan, located in the south of the city. Meanwhile, Stockholm was livened up by dozens of happenings (sixty!) around design, which took place within the streets of the Swedish capital.

Launched in 1951 and fully dedicated to the field experts – general public is admitted only on the last day , the fair attracts more than 500 exhibitors and over 35000 visitors each year. As always, the event proved to be an international appointment both in terms of visitors, who came from all over the world, and special guests such as Ilse Crawford, Britain’s most influencing woman when it comes to design, whi designed the lounge dedicated to the relaxation of the professionals. Seminars and on-topic talks went on too, with a specific schedule targeting different audiences: architects and interior designers first, then retailers, then general visitors. Beyond being the place where to discover the latest Scandinavian trends and products, the fair was also the stage for historic design pieces that still take over the field, such as the Dokka lamp which celebrated its 60th anniversary at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, with a new color range including 6 new tones, in a homage to Birger Dahl, died in 1998, and to Nordic postwar design too.
The work for the new edition is already in progress: the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will be back in 2016, from February 9 to 13.
