DOS Architects, from church to loft

Living in a church is possible for a family of londoners residing in Westbourne Grove Church, Notting Hill. The 1853 building has undergone a bold renovation to be turned into a loft which still features the original details of the edifice.

Whilst the exterior is still untouched, the interior has been turned upside down by DOS Architects studio: the outcome is a two story apartment linked by a glass staircase enhancing the original arch windows as well as some portholes with wrought iron adornments, all mixed with new bold colors.

White walls and flooring combined with Eighties-style shocking-colored sofas and XL armchairs which clash in a perfect way with the other pieces of furniture such as an ethnic rug, crystal details, the all black dining table and some gothic elements.

The eclectic style of the lower floor continues upstairs where the bedroom features a bathtub in front of the window, with pink and purple panels as shutters.

A well-lighted space for a colorful interior which appears the exact opposite of the exterior of its own building, because you can’t never judge a book by its cover.
