The relationship amid architecture and the surrounding environment is one of the key topics we’ve been often talking about, especially when it comes to historical districts or even buildings. Today’s project stresses another important point, that is the relationship between a hospitality project and the regulations by the municipality of a certain city. Click Clack is a designer hotel located in Bogotà, Colombia, where strict parameters are in place, such as maximum permitted construction of square and cubic meters for commercial facilities: plan:b arquitectos studio designed the hotel by overcoming such restrictions with a much vertical, glassy and rational inside and outside development.

Click Clack’s façades are characterized by a range of wide glass walls that open up the inner space and lighten the thin shape of the building. Moreover, such portions stick out by 1,5 meter (as allowed by regulations), enlarging the tiny modern hotel rooms, which are articulated by a central hall. The hotel features a strong urban identity, enhanced by the employment of perforated metal sheets on the outside, as well as its amazing view on the actual town. The unique character of the hotel is also given by the location of the common areas, which lie in the basement and feature sort of a magical atmosphere due to zenithal lighting. Founded in 2000 in the famous Medellìn, plan:b arquitectos studio is made up of an thrilling 5 professional team, whose work is based on open ideas that go beyond eco and social rules and issues.
