Capri Suite: charming accomodation
ti piace Like

Forget luxury hotels with over majestic suites. If you happen to be in Capri looking for a genuine romantic atmosphere eriched by great design visit Anacapri where architects Giuliano Andrea Dell’Uva and Francesca Faraone from Zeta Studio designed Capri Suite. This tiny facility is more than a hotel or a B&B. Formerly a 17th century convent, it is now sort of a house/hotel featuring only two charming rooms where to enjoy a great vacation in the purest Italian style.
All the interior is painted in white in the typical Capri style, as well as blue and yellow which are the main colors of either the two suites  and sun and sea elements. The walls are eriched by frescoes and artworks being  sold in the hotel which is kind of an art gallery too. Some pieces of furniture have been designed by the very same architects, but you will also find Tolix chair and Hang it All coat rack by Charles and Ray Eames, Snoopy ironic lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos or evena Luciano Romano’sphoto located in the Yellow Suite. Art and design match perfectly with summery colors and Mediterranean style.

The Yellow Suite, overlooking the garden, features a 19th century canopy with a geometrical bedcover from the Sixties by Livio De Simone. The Blue Suite features a very particular bathroom located where the former San Michele Church cloister used to be, made of 20th century tiles, a double charcoal shower and a bath tub put right in front of the bed and the window in such a theatrical way. Unusual arrangements mixing luxury and history by preserving some elements of the original building such as the keystone ceilings and the outer plaster walls. The library, enclosing figs and agaves, spreads a lovely scents throughout the property, reaching the patio where a symbolical bed reminds the guests to spend their time in the most relaxed possible. A project that revolutionize the meaning of “Luxury”: feel free to step by to enjoy a beautiful sea view from above.
