The curtain on the second much-awaited edition of Bogotá Design Festival closed on Saturday March 5: the event turned the city into one of the freshest and most captivating capitals of design, and beyond. The festival, on from March 1-5, involved not just the design field but any discipline related to innovation and creativity, thanks to the strong collaboration with the academic and cultural world. Thousands of locals participated in the many events, both commercial and educational, that were staged on any day of the second edition of Bogotá Design Festival: along with national and international firms, over 20 personalities joined the festival to tell the public their personal and professional story.
The uniqueness of the 2016 program was made possible by several sponsors such as the spanish embassy and the Chamber for Culture, Economy and Commerce: the most important ingredient of the whole festival was the free admission shared by any happenings, stressing the aim of Bogotá Design Festival to create a fully accessible platform where to get close to contemporary topics in a natural interactive way, with no boundaries. During the festival the Colombian capital took not just its municipality but the whole population to the global design stage, thanks to an open enthusiastic approach that thought everyone the most important lesson: design and art belong to everyone.
